２００２年にÅsa Halldin と Helle Rasmussen-ThelianderはHDKで出会いました。２００４年、在学中の二人の共同プロジェクトがWURMAの始まりです。
また、二人はÅsa Halldin と Helle Rasmussen-Thelianderとしての作家活動も継続しています。
